Granddaughter Digital Birthday Layout

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my digital scrapbooking software??!!
I really, really DO!

Recently, I discovered another fun way to use it and that is to make Facebook goodies.

Not only can you make amazing timeline covers, but when it comes time to celebrate someone in your life, you can make some gorgeous tribute pages/layouts and post them on the day your are celebrating this special individual!

My sweet Granddaughter "C-Bear" (as we affectionately call her!), just celebrated her second birthday and of course Gramma (aka: Gigi Lisa) could not let the day go by without letting her entire Social Network know about it!

2nd Birthday Digital Page Granddaughter

The best part is, I created both of these layouts in less than 20 minutes and the first one was a "Quick Page" template that took only a matter of minutes!

(The most time consuming part was finding the right photos in my overwhelming digital collection...LOL!)

I rarely get so excited about a product, but this software is just so amazing and easy to use!

If you haven't tried My Memories Suite yet and would like to, just check out the ad on my sidebar and use the code for a $10.00 discount!*

The software comes with lots of background designs, embellishments and tools to make amazing scrapbook pages, cards, invitations or anything else you can imagine.

In addition, on their website there are a plethora of "freebies" and low cost kits that will get you excited to scrapbook and create!

My New Fancy Canon Camera!

Well...I'm pretty darn excited right about now!

Received my new Canon Rebel T3 DSLR Camera a couple of weeks ago and have been playing around with it!

It is just AWESOME!!

Here is a video I made of when I received it...just had to share it with everyone, because as a SAHG, I get lonely on the days my Grandgirls aren't here...so I have to talk to someone while DH is at work! LOL!

One of the reasons I wanted to get this camera is so that I could take better photos for my blog.

I've always LOVED taking pictures and got my first good camera when I was only 18 years old.

It was a Canon AE-1 and I just recently passed it on to my daughter B, who is a real photographer, not just a "pretend" one like myself! :)

I played around with that camera for years and got lucky and got some decent shots with it, but never really learned the ins and outs of real photography.

I am so very proud of my Daughter B though...she had the same dream and unlike me...was brave enough to pursue that dream and get a degree!

Last month she graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and it was a big day for us!

If you get a chance, check out her blog: http://www.dasfotogirl.com/

I look forward to learning new things from her and getting to use my new Canon Camera not only here for my blog photos, but for some awesome Grand-Baby Shots!

Thanks for stopping By!
Take Care!

A Christmas Tradition

I am so excited about this Holiday Season!

Christmas is my favorite time of year, even though things usually get pretty hectic around here during this time.

Now that all our children are grown, I often think back to the happy memories and traditions of Christmases past with them and one of my most memorable traditions is collecting Nutcrackers with my Daughter "B".

How fitting that this week's "My Memories" challenge is about family traditions!

I couldn't wait to get in on this challenge, as just last Christmas, my precious Granddaughter "B" also became very interested in the story of the "Nutcracker" after seeing a Barbie Holiday Movie "Barbie in The Nutcracker"

I was excited to share this tradition with her and immediately got out all of the old Nutcrackers that me and her Aunt had collected when she was a child.

I snapped a few photos of precious little "B" playing with the Nutcrackers and hugging them like dolls!

I even bought her one of her very own Nutcracker's for Christmas, to get her started on her own collection.

Here is the layout I created for this challenge:

(Note: if you click on the layout, you can see a larger version)

I made it using the My Memories Suite (v.3) and it was so much fun and so easy!

I just love all the options it provides and how quickly a page can be completed.

I have SO many photos and just don't have enough time to do them all in the traditional scrapbooking method everytime.

It's nice to be able to do some "digital" scrapbooking as well and get some memories documented quickly, before the photos get put on the back burner and left behind.

As you can see, these photos are a year old and I hadn't yet gotten to them to scrap in a book.

Another great thing about the My Memories Suite is that you can have your pages/albums printed professionally, so that you can have them handy to show-off to others just as you would with your traditional paper scrapbook!

If you don't yet have this awesome Digital Scrapbooking Software, you can get it for $10.00 off by clicking on the blinkie below or on the ad in my sidebar and using the discount code that is below it.

CODE: STMMMS91285

It comes with lots of great templates, backgrounds, embellishments, etc. as well as options to add other digital content.

Their site contains lots of "freebies" too and other templates and quick pages that you can buy for a very reasonable price!

The options are limitless with this software and you can create other items too, like cards and calendars.

I do need to add a disclaimer here:
I was fortunate enough to have been given a copy of this software earlier in the year to review it for the company, but I can honestly tell you that I love it and would not promote it here if I did not think it was a wonderful product!
I am amazed at what it can do for such a reasonable price and it's much easier to use than the more complicated and expensive programs such as Photoshop.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Nutcracker Tradition and looking at my layout!

So happy you stopped by and I'd love it if you'd like to leave a comment and let me know what you think!

XOXO
Lisa
