Tinkerbell Rosetta Fairy Dress

FINALLY!

I finished my latest sewing project that I was having so much trouble with...and here it is:

Awhile back I foolishly decided that it would just be so awesome to make my GD's J & B some matching Tinkerbell outfits!

I purchased the pattern (Simplicity 2872/0805) and let them pick which Fairy they wanted to be.

"B" chose Rosetta and "J" chose Silvermist.

I went lickety split to the sewing store to purchase the fabric, thinking I was gonna "whip these up" in no time! (Yeah...right!)

I really should have known better, considering I'm fully aware of what my sewing "limitations" are...LOL!

(There is just something about cute little Grandbabes running around that makes you think you can do ANYTHING when it's for them!)

Anywhoo...I soon found out that this dress/costume was no "walk in the park" and I was going to have to pull into the deepest depths of my old fuzzy brain to figure it all out.

I'm one of those weird people who freak out if something gets messed up and I can't stand the thought of wasting something (yes...I am a hoarder!).

So, rather than just "go for it" I agonized over every piece of this dress, getting more afraid every moment of making a mistake.

This was not good, as it took me way longer to complete it than it should for any normal human being!

I'm still not sure the last few steps were done correctly, but I'm hoping any mistakes won't be too obvious! :)

The best part...and the thing that REALLY matters is...my Granddaughter "B" loved it and photographing her frolicking around in the dress in her backyard in her land of make-believe was all the satisfaction I needed!

(BTW...just a note here...even though the pattern does include instructions for making the Fairy wings, I decided instead to purchase some and found the one's you see in the pictures at the dollar store!)

Phew! Now that this one is done...onto the Silvermist version for "J".

Hopefully that one will be easier now that I have survived this first one!

Thanks for hangin' in there with me...I'm a very SLOW crafter and don't post as much as I'd like to, but I appreciate all of my followers and look forward to sharing my next project with you soon!
